These do work, but wont be useful if the data has been corrupted. In case data is corrupted, there are many softwares which try to retrieve the lost/missing bits, using a CRC check. One of the softwares i found the best for CDs and DVDs is ISObuster. Though its not a freeware, the trial works great for 30 days. Worth a try...

This technology certainly seems pretty promising, however I have heard it still has some fundamental flaws. Only time will tell how things will shape up in months to come..

This should be awesome. Although the ROI with respect to solar cells is still a cause for concern. 10 years is a long, long time to get some returns. But the very fact that solar technology is getting cheaper by the day is a very very good sign for the green warriors of the earth.

This is quite interesting. I am pretty surprised and happy to know there exist several services that make life much simpler. In my opinion, for organizing music collections, a cataloguing software like Cathy combined with Mp3Tag does the job quite beautifully. Good article though!

I have seen the videos on Silverbrook's site and this seems very promising and very, very impressive. I can't wait for this to come out in the market. Hopefully India will also be included in their sales plans. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this!

For those who would like to see what's the fuss all about, here's a video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1996259363769507120
